Qualifications and Experience 

The successful candidate must possess:

1. MD/DM in Community Medicine or equivalent with Residency in Public Health (from the U.S.A) or a CCT in Public Health (from the U.K) 

OR 

2. DrPH or PhD in Public Health or Community Health, Community Medicine or a closely related field 

Candidates should also possess:

• Good record of research and publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals
• Considerable teaching experience in Public Health
• Proficiency in curriculum development
• Evidence of supervising and conducting research in Public Health
• Competence in Communicable Disease, Chronic Non-Communicable Disease, Health Promotion, Monitoring and Evaluation and Epidemiology 

Candidates with the following would have an advantage:

• Fellowship certification in Public Health
• Practical experience in strategic curriculum development of postgraduate programmes and training for future public health professionals
• Graduate teaching experience in Public Health
• Professional and research experience, post-MPH Degree in the Public Health field 

The following would be considered assets:

• MBBS
• Certificate in university teaching and learning
• Familiarity with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) system
• Blended teaching and learning
• Proficiency in writing research grants and attract funding
