Job Description
The University of Adelaide, Discipline of Chemistry, invites applications for a continuing, full-time Level B academic position in Chemistry. We particularly encourage applications from women, and from people with diverse gender and cultural identities.
Applicants should have demonstrated expertise in sustainable chemical technology with a strong publication record in highly regarded scientific journals.
Chemistry at the University of Adelaide has been consistently ranked well above world class in the Excellence in Research for Australia national audits. The department has two major research strengths: Energy, Materials and Environmental Chemistry and Medicinal and Biological Chemistry. These research strengths are underpinned by an extensive portfolio of laboratories, world-class materials characterisation and analytical facilities that support a vibrant postgraduate research community and partnerships with national and international research consortia.
About you
If successful, you will be involved in both research and teaching within this dynamic group. You must have a strong research track record in an area broadly defined as sustainable chemical technology (applicants with a background in organic, inorganic, analytical or physical chemistry will be considered). You should be able to demonstrate an ability and the potential to develop a vigorous externally-funded research program, and to supervise students at postgraduate level. If successful, you will be involved in delivering a quality teaching program at the undergraduate and Honours levels. You should be capable of teaching a broad range of chemistry subjects, in the classroom and the laboratory. Where relevant, you will have the opportunity to join one or more of the University’s interdisciplinary research institutes, which include the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing, the Environment Institute and the Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Resources.
