The School of Science at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer position beginning February 2024 or thereafter. About the role

The successful candidate will maintain an impactful and productive research programme; teach and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students effectively; perform academic and administration management linked to teaching, research, and leadership; and engage with academic communities within AUT, nationally and internationally. When appropriate, the successful candidate will also spend around 3-4 weeks/year in Shanghai, teaching courses in our joint BSc programme with Shanghai Institute of Technology (SIT). One of these positions also includes a role as the programme leader for the joint AUT-SIT Chemistry BSc.

Skills and experience

  • A doctoral degree in Chemistry or a related area.
  • At least one year of relevant postdoctoral, academic, or industrial experience.
  • A robust research agenda and a demonstrated commitment to the education and success of students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • A track record of collaborative research.

We offer 1- and 2-year MSc programmes and a rapidly growing chemistry PhD programme. We also run a joint BSc chemistry programme with Shanghai Institute of Technology (SIT).
