Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Construction and Project Management to join School of Architecture and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering, Academic Division.
Construction and Project Management at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is highly respected for industry connections and real-world application of theory, and evidence-based practice. The team is at the leading edge of generating innovative solutions to sustainability, climate and carbon, health and wellbeing concerns in the built environment aligned to the United Nations sustainable development agenda. This position will play a role in developing and integrating research, teaching and engagement within the Disciplines, the School, the Faculty and the University as well as within the community.
What you need to succeed
- Completion of a PhD in Construction Management, Project Management or Quantity Surveying, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience, accreditation or standing. Real world experience in the Australian construction industry will be regarded favourably.
- Experience in developing and maintaining a research program in the areas of research outlined in the position information above as demonstrated by high-quality publications, success in attracting research funding, effective engagement in research projects, and successful supervision of student research projects.
- Demonstrated track record in high-quality teaching within construction management and/or project management including an ability to teach practically orientated curricula across a range of levels in the professionally oriented Construction and Project Management disciplines. Expertise in some or all of onsite construction planning and activities, digital technologies, project procurement, risk management, systems thinking, construction economics or construction law and legislation will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability in building partnerships with industry, professional associations (including the Australian Institute of Building) government or community groups and translate into opportunities for research and teaching. Industry relevant knowledge in will be regarded favourably.
- Demonstrated ability to cooperate and collaborate well with others in a team with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Cross-disciplinary collaborations will be regarded favourably.
- Personal drive and integrity and demonstrated capacity to embrace and participate in change to improve personal and organisational effectiveness.
