Machine Operator I

Position Overview
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is now accepting applications for a temporary part time Machine Operator I position.
Under the general direction of the Environmental Services Coordinator the Machine Operator I operates Aquatic Plant Harvesters, Rototillers or Cultivators as well as adheres to the regulations of Work Safe BC, Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection, Transport Canada, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent supplemented by Canadian Coast Guard Small Vessel Operator Proficiency card (SVOP & MED A-3) plus one (1) year relevant experience, preferably in a unionized, local government environment. Transport Canada Certification as required, Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license, Level 1 First Aid Certificate. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Additional Information
Position Type: Temporary, part time
Hours of Work: 35 – 40 hours per week and in accordance with Letter of Understanding #4: Milfoil Control Program.
Union: CUPE Local 1908
Salary: $29.97 per hour (January 2024 rates) plus eighteen 18% in lieu of benefits and vacation.
