Position Summary
The MCC Store Web Specialist has the exciting and creative responsibility to monitor and maintain offsite store operations, including order processing and content on the MCC Store’s website – all with a focus on making the customer’s online shopping experience both easy and positive.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Process web orders for the MCC Store website. This includes monitoring orders, fulfillment of orders from stock, substitutions of textbook condition, closing orders, shipment of books, and e-mail acknowledgements sent to customers
- Establish and maintain an efficient web order process from order placement to fulfillment.
- Maintain the efficiency and functionality of the MCC Store website and order system, report and resolve all problems in a timely manner
- Address all customer service emails received at bookstore@mchenry.edu by answering them directly or forwarding them to appropriate store personnel
- Monitor and maintain the Google.doc for web orders
- Address all customer concerns or issues regarding web orders
- Maintain the website content to reflect the MCC branding and customer service message; to include adding content about promotions, sales, new items, photograph product, and edit product photos
- Photograph product and edit product photos for the MCC Store website
- Monitor and maintain all online product catalogs, including adding and removing product
- Update and monitor the private Facebook page for all store employees
- Run the cash register and assist in-store customers, during peak times
- Support store operations, including but not limited to opening and/or closing the store regularly, comprehensive customer service
- Assist with training and guiding temporary and student workers on the web order process
- Provide hands-on assistance to the Textbook Specialist and Supply Buyer when needed
- Work collaboratively with others (e.g. colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
- Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus College level coursework or certification in the Web Design or other related field
- Two years retail management experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Photoshop
