Job Summary
Responsible for the conceptualization, planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality, on-brand video and photo assets across the college. Actively participates in developing team action plans, work processes, and systems to foster and promote awareness of Midland College activities and successes.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and five years of related work experience; an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be considered
- Significant experience/expertise in Final Cut Pro X, Avid, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator (and/or other professional editing software)
- Ability to work with a variety of video, camera, and audio equipment
- Expertise in and demonstrated experience producing professional-grade photographs (including retouching, color correcting, etc.)
- Strong understanding of professional-grade lighting for video and photography
- Knowledge of different video formats and video file conversions and the ability to convert video files in multiple formats
- Expert in video color correction, photo retouching, and sound mixing
- Ability to tell a captivating story in various formats, from short teasers to long-form videos
- Excellent script writing, editorial, and storytelling skills (including creating storyboards.)
- Working knowledge of how to conceptualize/produce effective videos for social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
- Highly collaborative and organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deadline-driven situations
- Exceptional management skills and experience working with a digital “content hub” accessed by multiple parties (i.e., creative database)
- Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision but with a keen sense of knowing when to escalate an issue
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Essential Functions
- Form strong relationships and collaborate with departments and partners to identify video and photo needs; provide strategic and creative recommendations that maximize all content capture opportunities (i.e., photo and video combined shoots, b-roll footage, etc.)
- Establish and ensure the application of industry best practices across all video and photo production activities, including: pre-planning (i.e., creative brief, script, storyboarding, budget, timeline, etc.), content capture (i.e., scouting locations, securing required permits, releases, etc.), post-production work and on time delivery.
- Monitor and stay current on video and photo trends, editing techniques and styles, as well as content platforms.
- Manage all digital and physical media assets (video and photo) including: organization, tagging, distributing, archiving and storage (including all applicable sites.)
- Properly secure and maintain all production equipment.
- Ensure technical compliance with Midland College Brand Standards & Guidelines across all video and photo projects.
- Execute other duties, as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- The person in this position needs to frequently move or drive to other locations on and off campus
- This position may require occasional travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town
- The ability to see details of objects that are at a close range and see differences between colors, shades, and brightness
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Duties indoors and some outdoors
- Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events

Pay Statement
Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
