GENERAL DESCRIPTIONÂ
Provide technical instruction and
assistance to students enrolled in the 5-College Media Studies Program. Manage essential 5-C Media Studies technical operations. Support
the day-to-day operations of the Department of Media Studies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support the daily operations of
the IMS Production Center. - Edit Rooms:Â Provide technical support for student projects in the Production Center Edit
Rooms. - Provide support to the Production Center Director for equipment demonstrations for the Intro to Video labs.
- P104 Lab:
Provide technical support for the faculty and students in the P104 Media Studies Mac lab. - Helps manage the Web checkout software and
maintains the 5-C Media Studies Department equipment inventories, records of student equipment loans and other related
records. - Performs installation, maintenance and repair of video, film and computer equipment in the 5-C Media Studies
Department. - Schedule, instruct, train, and supervise the Production Center student employees.
- Support and maintain the Media
Studies classrooms (Q120 and Q116), Video Studio (Q117) and the Kallick Gallery. - Manage, coordinate, and organize 5-C Media Studies
events with the IMS Academic office. Involvement includes promotion, creative conceptualization, and planning. - Support hands-on
workshops for students interested in creative practices. - Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the
position.
Basic Qualification:
- Bachelors degree, or any combination of education and experience that
provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. - The ideal candidate should have a degree from a media, film & video, or art
program. - At least 1 year of relevant experience with the operation of electronic and computer assisted equipment necessary to a
media studies program and audio-visual services department, with at least two years in video production/post-production.
Preferred Qualification:Â
- Active film/video makers are strongly desired.
REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess knowledge, skills and ability to be able to successfully perform the
essential functions of the position or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without
reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Detailed working knowledge of the Adobe Creative
Cloud software suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and Audition). - Ability to perform classroom
demonstrations. - Understanding of production and post-production practices.
- Basic technical skills and knowledge of equipment
related to the IMS department (high definition and standard definition video, digital production, video and sound
editing). - Extensive Apple Macintosh computer experience. Â
- Experience as a media maker is a plus.
- Ability to
troubleshoot, repair and maintain media related equipment. - Ability to interact well with diverse student groups and work effectively
in a tutorial setting. - Knowledge of safe work practices as it pertains to equipment operation and repair.
- Ability to bend
stoop and lift heavy equipment - Must have access to reliable and secure computer and internet connection. Must maintain password
protection for work files and records and ensure that no one else has access to password and login credentials at remote work
site. - Must have access to a dedicated and suitable workstation at remote location, including desk or table and supporting, upright
chair. Must ensure workstation is safe and free from hazards.

Time Type:
- Part-time, up to 40 hours per
week
Work Schedule:
This is a Temporary part time position working up to 40 hours per week until May 2023
(5 months). The regular hours for this position will be scheduled between 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:00
pm, Friday. These hours may vary due to needs of the College or department.

Compensation: Starting Pay: $24-25 per hour.
