Nevada State University invites applications for a 12-month, tenure track Program Director & Associate Professor/Full Professor of
Speech-Language Pathology of Master’s Degree Program.

About the School of Education at Nevada State University:

The
Nevada State School of Education (SOE) is an exciting and dynamic place to work with more than 1000 undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and
graduate students. The SOE has worked hard over the last 20+ years to address the needs of state, supporting passionate students as they
transform into skilled and highly qualified teachers and speech-language pathologists. SOE is housed in the Christenson Education Building,
which opened in the summer of 2021. The speech language-pathology program was the first graduate program at Nevada State and was recently
awarded full accreditation by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. The program has strong community ties and provides
services at an on-campus clinic in Henderson and at the Rite-Care Clinic in Las Vegas.

Primary
Responsibilities:

  • Director, Speech Language Programs – Undergraduate and Graduate:
    • Oversees all administrative duties
      related to program assessment and program accreditation
    • Oversees course programming and scheduling
    • Directs community
      outreach initiatives
    • Oversees SLP Program Faculty and Staff
    • Academic advising
  • Reduced teaching load
    (undergrad and/or graduate courses).
  • Supervise students in clinical settings (supervision counts toward courses).
  • Work in
    collaboration with Clinic Director and Undergraduate Program Coordinator.
  • Contribute to program development/renewal
    initiatives.
  • Conduct research and scholarship.
  • Participate in service at the school, university, and community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must hold rank of Associate or Full Professor and meet eligibility upon review by the Nevada
    State University Promotion and Tenure Committee.
  • A Ph.D. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences or a closely related
    field.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Eligible for Nevada State
    Licensure.
  • Experience with the ASHA Accreditation Process.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
    (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with program
    oversight and development.
  • Expertise in working with children OR adult populations.
  • Experience in university teaching and
    clinical supervision at the graduate level.
  • Experience providing professional development and mentoring SLP
    instructors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
