ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Project Coordinator, Mental Health leads the coordination to support 19,000 Métis individuals in accessing three lengths of suicide prevention trainings (START, safeTALK, and ASIST); including the adaptation process to re-design this suicide prevention program to be based in Métis ways of knowing and being. This involves collaborating internally and externally, enhancing Métis community capacity for mental wellness, and developing a Métis Learning Supplement for suicide prevention courses.
The role extends to planning Métis Mental Health & Wellness Gatherings, engaging Métis Chartered Communities to address specific mental health needs, and facilitating community advisory boards. The incumbent fosters cooperation and collaborative problem-solving, co-facilitates advisory meetings, communicates with relevant teams, and handles administrative tasks. With a focus on project reporting, the position ensures timely completion of targets, schedules and coordinates trainings, workshops, and events, demonstrating a commitment to improving the mental health and wellness of Métis people.
