PT Computer Lab Technical Assistant, Information Systems – Lynn Campus
Campus Location: Lynn
Work Schedule: M 7:30am – 1pm, T & TH 12pm – 5pm, F 12pm – 4pm
Non-benefited position
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Provide phone and in person support to the NSCC community relating to passwords resets, web portal access and basic technology issues. Responsible for carrying out the day to day operations of the academic computer labs & classrooms. Assisting with the scheduling and running of software installations, imaging and troubleshooting problems in the NSCC academic labs and classrooms. Help other Information Systems staff members with technology related work when needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a friendly and courteous manner when working with all members of the NSCC community.
- Provide phone and in-person support to the NSCC community with respect to Computer Lab procedures, passwords resets, access to My-Northshore Portal and other general technology related issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of common computer and audiovisual/media technology issues in order to provide support and troubleshooting of smart classrooms and videoconference classrooms
- Conduct software installations, as well as Windows and software updates in computerized classrooms.
- Support other members of IS with all manner of technology related tasks including inventory control, documentation creation, toner replacement and computer replacement.
- Maintain the cleanliness of labs to ensure safety and proper working conditions for the lab users.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Experience with phone-based customer service.
- Experience in Computer Lab environments or in other Audio Visual or technology-related fields
- Proven customer service and interpersonal skills preferably in an academic environment.
- Understanding of computer hardware and software such as MS Office.
- Firm knowledge of email concepts and capabilities.
- Ability to read, interpret and create documents such as policies and manuals.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lift & carry thirty or more pounds.
- Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner.
- Successful experience in interacting with culturally diverse populations.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.
Additional Information:
SALARY: $19.00 per hour. This is a Non-benefited position.
