Could you be our next Quality Assurance Manager?

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic and tactical programs to manage assigned food categories and suppliers. Your primary goal is to ensure that McDonald’s food safety and quality standards are consistently met. This role involves collaboration with internal departments, crisis management, and effective communication.

What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Clearly communicate McDonald’s expectations to suppliers and establish performance criteria
  • Monitor and manage designated categories to ensure compliance with McDonald’s food safety, quality, and other standards
  • Ensure supplier compliance to the McDonalds Sensory standards for Core & local products
  • Collaborate with McDonald’s Strategic Sourcing team to foster strong business relationships with suppliers
  • Work closely with global leads to drive Food Safety & Quality improvements in designated categories
  • Partner with the Menu team to provide expertise on food safety, regulatory, nutrition, and McDonald’s requirements for new products
  • Conduct food safety and quality validations for new products in alignment with category requirements
  • Validate new equipment suitability for restaurant operations in collaboration with the equipment team
  • Establish and maintain food safety systems for products and restaurant food handling in assigned categories
  • Facilitate resolution of food quality issues with restaurant operations, suppliers, customer service and other departments
  • Provide industry expertise on McDonald’s products, packaging, and processing

Qualifications:

Your keys to success:

  • 7+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably at a food manufacturing company, experience in protein categories such as beef or chicken is an advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or equivalent study stream
  • Proficient in working across different digital platforms as part of the Digitisation of Supply Chain
  • Experience in Food Safety & Quality auditing (internal and/or external)
  • Experience working with beef, poultry, and meat categories
  • Possesses the discernment to navigate problem-solving and decision-making independently, recognizing when to escalate issues appropriately
  • Clear, confident, and honest communicator in both written and oral communication
  • Adaptable to change and able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Skilled at leveraging relationships and using influence to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Proactive in personal development with a strong initiative and ability to challenge the status quo
  • Organised, able to work with competing deadlines, and prioritise tasks
  • Exceptional ability in cultivating strong and effective professional relationships
  • Comfortable with ad-hoc travel interstate and to New Zealand as required
