1 Year Term Position

The City of Campbell River is seeking an experienced Programmer to join our Recreation and Culture team.

The role – Reporting to the Recreation Program Manager and taking day to day direction from the Program Coordinator, the Programmer works in the planning and development of recreation and culture services for the City of Campbell River with respect to Adult, Outdoor, Special Events and Community Outreach. You will need to be flexible and open to rotating into other program areas for developmental opportunities and to provide support to other teams. Our ideal candidate is a dynamic leader who is responsive to community needs, can build and lead cohesive teams, and is an effective team player.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A two (2) year diploma in recreation, or closely related field.
  • Three (3) years recent experience in planning, scheduling, marketing, and promoting of community recreation, programs and events, within the last seven (7) years.
  • Two (2) years recent supervisory experience.
  • Experience and a passion for working with citizens of all ages and abilities.
  • Valid Emergency First Aid with CPR certifications by start date.
  • Ability to successfully attain and maintain a clean criminal record and vulnerability check.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s licence and produce a clear driver’s abstract as per City policy.

 
The rate of pay for this Long Term Auxiliary, CUPE bargaining unit position is $30.86 per hour based on a 35-hour work week and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Workplace flexibility is important to the City of Campbell River. This position is currently eligible to be part of our alternative work arrangement programs.
