This role can be based out of our New York City office or remotely in the North America region.

The Atlas team is responsible for building the most innovative developer data platform on the market, allowing users to deploy fully-managed multi-cloud MongoDB databases in 110+ regions globally across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure with best-in-class automation and unparalleled stability. This team is at the forefront of innovation, having brought to life some of the most exciting features we’ve launched in the past, such as multi-cloud databases, workload-balanced autoscaling, and seamless connectivity to cloud providers. Furthermore, this team will continue to play a critical role as the platform expands to where developers need it most: AI, semantic search, application development, analytics, and more.
About the Role
Product Managers on the Atlas team work side-by-side with design, engineering, marketing, and analytics to develop solutions that our users love and that work for the business. You’ll spend your time deeply understanding customer problems, developing hypotheses, and validating them with design solutions. If you’re doing well, you will continuously be accelerating the rate at which our users learn, build, and deliver their products.
Responsibilities
- Provide an unparalleled customer experience by conceiving and driving new features, marketing programs, customer surveys, partnerships, pricing, and technical documentation
- Lead the team to the right product decisions via deep engagement with Design, Marketing, Engineering, Executive Leadership, Sales, customers, prospects, and market analysis.
- Be passionate about the data around your products, ensuring business impact can be measured and used to continually hone products towards excellence.
- Team with Sales, Technical Support and related groups as a strategic partner in customer engagements, able to clearly articulate MongDB Atlas’ features, functionality and value.
- Drive execution against your plan; making trade-offs, anticipating needs, evaluating risks, and ensuring frequent and clear communication
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management or with a complex technical product with a SaaS focus
- Strong understanding of hyperscale cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and first-party networking solutions they provide, including but not limited to peering, VPN, PrivateLink, Private Service Connect etc.
- Strong understanding of various networking concepts (e.g. DNS, ACLs, security groups), topologies (e.g. hub-and-spoke, mesh, point-to-point) and various third-party networking solutions (e.g. Equinix, Tailscale, Teleport, CloudFlare Tunnel)
- Experience and proven success in delivering software products to market
- Passion for solving problems for a developer audience
- A growth mentality and ability to execute at a fast pace with a strong bias to action; you are always striving to stay ahead of the market and you get things done
- Self-starter who enjoys challenges across a broad range of technical subject areas
- Adept at navigating open-ended questions, relentless when identifying solutions, and driving them to completion
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to bridge gaps and bring multiple stakeholders toward the best solution via well researched and written business cases.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
Nice to have
- Development background/experience – any programming language
- Database experience – MongoDB experience is a plus

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$112,000$220,000 USD
