We are seeking to recruit a Research Fellow, based in the Disease Control Department, Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases who will be involved in the coding and analysis of qualitative data, and training of partners on qualitative analysis, as required for the social science sub-study in the malaria vaccine plus perennial malaria chemoprevention trial in Ghana. The Research Fellow will have ongoing communications with LSHTM and Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) PIs and teams to ensure quality and efficiency of the coding and analysis of qualitative data and will contribute to dissemination outputs.
The successful applicant will have a postgraduate degree in the field of in public health or social science. They will also have experience with coding and analysis of qualitative data on studies related to malaria vaccines and perennial chemoprevention interventions, experience using published acceptability and feasibility frameworks in coding and analysis, experience working in Ghana and West Africa, experience publishing qualitative research on malaria vaccine and chemoprevention interventions, and proven ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a research team. The post is part-time 5.25 hours per week, 0.15 FTE and fixed term until 31 January 2026. The post is funded by USAID and GiveWell, through PATH PMI. The salary will be on the Academic Grade 6 scale at £43,947 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting).
The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
