Description
Reporting to the Chief of
Staff, the Senior Assistant Director of Communication Operations will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing recruitment
marketing strategies, campaigns, and events for graduate admissions at Hofstra University. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and
adaptable person able to manage multiple tasks across digital and traditional marketing channels. This role will focus on driving
engagement, building the graduate student pipeline, and collaborating across departments to achieve enrollment goals. Candidates must be
willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the
Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA. Evening and weekend hours will be required in support of special projects and
events.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Builds and maintains relationships with a wide variety of
constituents, including faculty, administrators, alumni, prospective students, current students, and their families. - Represents the
graduate admissions team in key outreach efforts and partnerships. - Leads the development, execution, and analysis of targeted
marketing campaigns across email, text messaging, social media, digital guides, and web content. - Tracks and reports on the
performance of marketing initiatives and optimizes strategies for maximum impact. - Creates and manages editorial and content creation
calendars, ensuring the production of timely, relevant, and high-quality materials that support the graduate admission marketing strategy. - Oversees the creation of content for print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
- Oversees both in-person and virtual graduate
admission events, including recruitment events, webinars, and information sessions with duties including coordination of logistics, working
with vendors, managing speakers, developing program agendas, and ensuring the seamless execution of each event. - Collaborates with
vendors and the university’s marketing and communications team to request, review, and edit digital content for graduate admission. - Assists in the development and implementation of digital advertising strategies to engage prospective students.
- Supports
the creation of campaigns across various platforms while ensuring alignment with overall university branding and
messaging. - Develops, executes, and manages direct marketing campaigns, including email blasts, text messages, and digital outreach.
- Tracks outcomes and adjusts campaigns as needed to meet enrollment goals.
- Manages the marketing budget for graduate
admissions, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget. - Tracks expenses, optimizes spending, and provides
regular reports on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. - Handles event-related inquiries from prospective students and other
stakeholders through email, text, and phone ensuring timely follow-up and positive interactions with all inquiries. - Ensures all
marketing and recruitment practices comply with Hofstra University policies, as well as relevant rules and regulations of the Colonial
Athletic Conference and NCAA. - Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree required. - At least one year of work or internship experience in higher education, admissions, event planning or related
field. - The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator with excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to
detail, and the ability to multi-task. - Strong communication skills, including spelling, rules of grammar and composition, and the
ability to vary tone and language based on medium and target audience. - Must have a professional demeanor and excellent relational
skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with computerized admission systems such as Ellucian Banner
and Slate preferred. - Working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs.
