Job Description
This Senior Web Development Manager is responsible for effectively designing, coding, and maintaining ODUGlobal’s Drupal-based website. Reporting to the Creative Director, the manager will oversee a small team and collaborate with a content team to ensure online.odu.edu and sub-brand secondary sites drive enrollment objectives, provide an optimal user experience, and adhere to the highest standards of web development practices.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Considerable knowledge of PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to web development and make timely and effective repairs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and meet deadlines. Comprehensive knowledge/understanding of UI/UX design principles, SEO. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and rectify web development issues promptly and effectively.

Level and type of experience
Considerable prior work experience in web development, specifically with the Drupal platform. Considerable prior work experience employing UI/UX design principles, SEO, and collaborating within a team environment.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
Extensive experience in Drupal, including custom module development and theme development.
Experience with responsive and adaptive design principles and the ability to implement them effectively. Familiarity with cloud services, API integrations, and third-party libraries. Certifications related to web development or Drupal. Experience in the education sector or a related field, particularly with creating websites that adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, etc.).
Excellent project management skills and experience working in an agile development environment.
A portfolio that demonstrates innovative design and a user-centered approach. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent work experience to an advanced degree.
Conditions of Employment
This is a remote position. Equipment and computer systems will be provided for your remote work location. You will be responsible for ensuring you have a dedicated office space as well as 100 Mbps of download speed and 10 Mbps of upload speed of dedicated internet bandwidth at your remote work location.
