Open Positions in History 

Harvard Business School is seeking candidates with a Ph.D. in History for a tenure-track position in the Business, Government, and the International Economy (BGIE) unit. We are especially looking for historians whose research focuses on one or more of the following areas: political economy, business-government relations, business history, economic policy, international economics, or economic development. We are also looking for a record of commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching. Candidates may come directly from Ph.D. programs (must be complete by time of appointment) or from the faculties of other universities. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2025. 

Requirements 

All applicants should have excellent academic credentials and a demonstrated potential for conducting outstanding research. The School is particularly interested in applicants with interdisciplinary interests and a strong record of, or potential for, excellence in teaching. Successful candidates will, at the outset, teach a required first-year MBA course on the economic, political, and social environment of business.
