Utility Operator

(Water & Sewer)
ONE (1) FULL-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE

The District of Hudson’s Hope is accepting applications for the Utility Operator position within the Public Works Department.
 
We seek a qualified individual for a full-time role in the Utility Operator job classification, contingent on qualifications. The chosen candidate will primarily be engaged in Water Treatment/Distribution and Wastewater Treatment/Collection duties within the Utility Department.
 
As part of our Public Works Department, there will be instances where you will operate equipment and take on tasks related to other roles, including roadway maintenance, construction, facilities, and municipal services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Secondary school graduation (e.g., Grade 12 education).
  • Valid BC Driver’s License (minimum Class 5).
  • A valid Occupational First Aid, Level 1 certificate.

 
Preference will be given to those applicants who possess verifiable experience in the following areas:

  • EOCP Water and/or Wastewater Operator or Multi-Utility Certification Level I or higher
  • Heavy Equipment Operator experience
  • A valid Certificate of Qualification as a Mechanic
  • A valid Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician.

 
Applications, accompanied by a detailed resume of work experience, education, and qualifications, will be accepted at the Municipal Office, 9904 Dudley Drive, via mail, email, or in person until Friday, February 8, 2024, by 4:30 pm. Please include copies of certificates. For any clarification, please contact the undersigned. The pay rate will range from $39.43 to $42.60 per hour, depending on the qualifications of the successful applicant, per the BCGEU Collective Agreement as of January 1, 2024.
