Summary
Provide advice and guidance to unit management in the design and maintenance of web sites on the World Wide Web; consult with department staff on web site specifications; develop and maintain operating unit web sites. Desirable Qualifications: Some college course work in computer sciences or a related field; and several years experience in the design and maintenance of web sites.
Payrate: 26-28 an hour depending on experience
SPH Computing Services provides networking, information technology, classroom services, and web services to support and enhance the quality of education and research within the School of Public Health. We provide full services and activities that support implementation, maintenance, operations, technology solutions, consultations, and computer infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic staff member with a commitment to contributing to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all members of our community.
This is a two-month, 25-hour week part-time temporary position, with the possibility of an extension.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain operating and maintenance of the School of Public Health website.
- Provide support to staff and faculty for web-related applications and content.
- Collaborate with departments to determine web requirements.
- Maintain roles and permissions of the website and intranet.
- Manage the school’s CMS and provide support for all CMS users.
- Develop and maintain database-driven web applications for the school and departments.
- Fill requests through the ticketing system to update and maintain the intranet website.
Required Qualifications*
- Some experience or knowledge of CMS suites.
- Experience coding database-driven web applications with PHP and manipulating data in MySQL.
- Ability to troubleshoot and handle client requests.
- Thorough understanding of HTML, CSS, and coding standards.
- Able to promptly answer support-related emails, phone calls, and tickets
