Job Description:

The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. We
research, develop, and scale equitable educational innovations for adults and children that put all learners on trajectories for lifelong
success. Specifically, the Center targets kindergarten readiness, 3rd grade reading proficiency, and algebra proficiency as critical
milestones in children’s educational trajectory that are predictive of success in school and life. The Center works at the nexus of
research, practice, and policy to develop sustainable systems that leverage educational technologies and improve the implementation of
research-based practices. Housed in one of the nation’s elite public research universities, the Center operates as a dynamic,

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger
Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to
stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is
fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Responsibilities will include:

Website Development and Management

  • Work with project leads, web
    designers and end users to gather deliverables and project requirements related to website functionality and development.
  • Works
    from high-fidelity mockups in programs like Figma or Sketch to develop WordPress websites, including custom themes, Gutenberg blocks, and
    unique functionality.
  • Writes code that is valid, properly structured, well-documented, secure, meets industry standards and is
    compatible with different browsers, devices, or operating systems.
  • Works with UF IT on hosting issues and troubleshoots website
    service interruptions and other bugs or errors. Manages domains and DNS settings for the Lastinger Center’s web properties.
  • Ensures
    that all Center websites are following best practices for SEO, accessibility, usability and other web development best practices. Tests
    websites regularly for performance across browsers and devices.
  • Configures and monitors analytics and makes recommendations for
    improvement.

Content Management

  • Works with content providers to update websites, adjust layouts, and add
    functionality to meet Center goals.
  • Works with the Communications team to facilitate outreach efforts and track engagement.
  • Develops design concepts for implementation.
  • Designs graphic features for print or online.

Research and
Development

  • Stays current on emerging trends, technologies, and programming languages to ensure the Lastinger Center’s web
    ecosystem is future-proof.
  • Takes initiative on professional development opportunities and looks for ways to improve the Center’s
    web presence.

Other Duties as Assigned

Expected Salary:

$55,000 – $60,000

Minimum
Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization or an associate degree and two years of
experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Proficiency with the WordPress
    CMS, including editing and developing themes and Gutenberg blocks
  • Experience with database hosting and SQL
  • Experience with
    Figma, Sketch, or comparable design tools
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Excellent communication,
    organization, and project management skills
