Required Relevant Education & Experience:
Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of experience in a web related technology or design field is required.

An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.

Working knowledge of enterprise class content management systems.

One year of experience supervising full-time technical staff.

Position Details:
Indiana State University is looking for candidates to fill a leadership position in the department responsible for Web Strategy and Development.

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, communication, and implementation of web projects, as well as establishing policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the accessibility of the University’s website for all users. The main focus will be on optimizing the web environment for student recruitment, analytics, and measuring the effectiveness of organic and paid marketing efforts. The Director, Web Strategy and Development will also address the needs of departments with non-recruitment-related audiences, ensuring a strong public web presence. Additionally, the role involves providing guidance and training to content editors, collaborating with various units and groups to audit website performance, and offering consulting services as needed.

Applicants should have expertise with an enterprise content management system, and experience with managing and configuring Drupal CMS is preferred by the university.

Job Summary:
The primary duty of the Director, Web Strategy and Development is to manage and lead Web Strategy and Development and provide university-wide leadership in planning, optimizing, and directing the design, functionality, and security of Indiana State University’s web site. The Director, Web Strategy and Development oversees the coordinated development, communication, and implementation of web projects, policies, standards and procedures and accessibility of the University’s web site for all users. The Director, Web Strategy and Development works to ensure the web environment is optimized for student recruitment and analytics and web page destinations are in place to measure organic and paid marketing efforts. In addition, the Director ensures the needs of departments having audiences that are not recruitment related but require a public web presence are met. The Director, Web Strategy and Development assures the web support group offers guidance and training to content editors and collaborates with various units and groups to audit website performance, provide guidance and consulting services as needed.
