Powder King Mountain Resort Inc. based in Mackenzie, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Hostel manager. Powder King Mountain Resort Inc. is a renowned ski resort destination known for its pristine slopes and exceptional winter sports offerings. Powder King Mountain Resort provides an unforgettable skiing and snowboarding experience for outdoor enthusiasts and winter adventurers. The resort offers a range of amenities, including ski lifts, rental equipment, and ski instruction, catering to both novice and experienced skiers alike. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Job Description:

No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $750 to $850 weekly (To be negotiated) for 32 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract (ending: 2024-04-14) Full time
Location: Mackenzie, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend
Work setting: Staff accommodation provided, Hotel, motel, resort
Budgetary responsibility:
0 – $100,000


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Word, Central reservation system (CRS), MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Windows

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, initiative, and effective teamwork abilities

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position


  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement policies and procedures for daily operations
  • The candidates should be able to negotiate with suppliers for the provision of materials and supplies
  • The candidates should be able to conduct training sessions
  • The candidates should be able to perform front desk duties
  • The candidates should be able to prepare budgets and monitor revenues and expenses
  • The candidates should be able to enforce policies and procedures
  • The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • The candidates should be able to assist clients/guests with special needs
  • The candidates should be able to establish work schedules
