Job Description
The HR Consulting Director is entrusted with the responsibility of fostering close collaborations with colleagues to provision complex, tailored, and multi work-stream solutions that consistently surpass client anticipations. This role accentuates business development and client relationship management alongside delivery. Individuals may predominantly focus on either delivery or business development or maintain a mixed portfolio. Regardless of focus, individuals will contribute to bids, and manage/lead relationships and/or projects of significant complexity.

Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and manage efficacious client relationships either as a part of an account team or by directly overseeing accounts, including potential key accounts. Engage in project managing work streams and/or leading delivery teams for key accounts.
- Conduct comprehensive research, analysis, and interpretation on client/sector business issues, performance, and client competitor performance to identify potential opportunities. Endeavor to establish new client relationships through active networking, soliciting referrals, and partnering across business lines. Utilize insights to delineate, recommend, and/or co-create strategic solutions for clients.
- Contribute to securing profitable business by proposal writing, pricing, shaping opportunities, pitch preparation, and recognizing opportunities within clients. Assess the needs of large/complex clients, and design and deliver solutions to cater to their needs.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality work that aligns with or surpasses client expectations.
- Facilitate project teams by articulating scope, objectives, and project management structure, maintaining an unwavering focus on outcomes. Plan for resource needs and implement plans to ensure consultants are developed to meet business necessities. Leverage the expertise of internal industry or practice experts across the business. Engage in projects that may span multiple service lines and typically involve managing multiple consultants from different locations. Project timelines could range between 6-12 months.
- Contribute to thought leadership and/or research. Represent at local or national events within your area of expertise to bolster the brand’s prestige. Nurture relationships with industry and thought leaders externally to augment awareness and prestige.
- Support budding consultants through mentoring, project-based development, and coaching.
- Hone expertise in at least one domain, and become adept in all offerings to provide comprehensive business solutions, including those necessitating inter-service line approaches. Continually enhance consulting skills, business or sector understanding, and expertise. Foster a strong internal brand and network of consultants.
- Collaborate with industry leaders to develop and customize offerings within a service line, targeted at a particular industry.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) coupled with substantial (+8 years) relevant work experience in consultancy and/or a client HR function is desired. Alternatively, significant work experience (+8 years) in a top-tier professional services firm is also acceptable.
- Recognized as a dependable individual in a defined ‘major’ discipline, capable of scoping, designing, and delivering non-standard solutions to meet client needs.
- Possesses an in-depth understanding of supported clients/industries and applies business offerings at a senior level.
