Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 1.5 – 3 years experience in financial advisory role managing and growing your own portfolio of clients

  • The candidates should be a certified professional (MFDA), possessing current accreditation and maintaining good standing in The Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC). They must meet eligibility requirements for MFDA licensing upon hire, with the goal of obtaining the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation within 24 months of hire
  • The candidates should be a certified professional (Quebec), holding current accreditation and maintaining good standing in AMF licensing. Successful completion of the Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) or the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is required to support AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers) licensing, along with the Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC) designation. It is considered an asset if they have completed the CSI/ICB Investment and Taxation Fundamentals Course – Quebec (0774) and CSI/ICB Legal & Ethical Aspects of Financial Planning Course (0790)
  • The candidates should be a certified professional (MFDA – Ontario), with current accreditation and good standing in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC). They must meet eligibility requirements for MFDA licensing and strive to obtain the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation within 24 months of hire. Additionally, they should have, or be willing to obtain before their start date, the Designated Financial Services Advisor Designation (DFSA) through the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage and grow a dedicated client portfolio through key relationship management, creating comprehensive financial plans, and providing exceptional client service.
  • The candidates should be able to, as a Senior Financial Advisor in the Imperial Service Team, expertly deliver on CIBC’s Imperial Service approach, taking responsibility for a large portfolio, and helping clients plan for today’s needs and tomorrow’s goals.
  • The candidates should be able to proactively engage with many new and existing clients to make lasting connections, understand their goals, build their financial plan using advanced CIBC tools, and give them the right advice to help them make well-informed choices for their future.
  • The candidates should be flexible to work banking centre hours, which may include evenings and weekends. To help deliver a great client experience, they should be flexible to work at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel distance
