Fort Nelson IGA based in Fort Nelson, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Shipper-receiver. Fort Nelson IGA is a cornerstone of the local community, providing a diverse selection of groceries and household essentials since its establishment. As the go-to supermarket in Fort Nelson, it offers fresh produce, quality meats, and a wide array of pantry staples to meet the needs of residents and visitors alike. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $20.05 hourly for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 4815 50 Ave S, Fort Nelson, BC V0C 1R0, Canada
Shifts: Day, Night, Weekend, Shift
Work setting: Remote location and supermarket/grocery store

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months 

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to determine the method of shipment, schedule the distribution of goods, and prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents
  • The candidates should be able to assemble containers and crates, inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, and maintain an internal record-keeping system
  • The candidates should be able to record shortages and reject damaged goods, route goods to appropriate storage areas, and pack goods to be shipped
  • The candidates should be able to unpack goods received, affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments, and oversee the loading and unloading of goods
  • The candidates should be able to supervise material handlers and helpers
