Salary: $16.75 to $17.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 44 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation and Public transportation is not available
Work setting: Restaurant, Staff accommodation available, Rural area, and Catering firm

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic cash register and Point of sale system
Credentials: Smart Serve, Food Safety Certificate, and Safe Food Handling certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in cold or refrigerated environments, as well as in hot conditions, displaying adaptability to different temperature settings
  • The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments and in areas with various odors, demonstrating resilience to different sensory stimuli
  • The candidates should be able to perform tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling, showcasing physical flexibility and agility
  • The candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to work overtime when required, demonstrating adaptability and dedication to their roles
  • The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks and standing for extended periods, as well as work effectively under pressure and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs), highlighting their resilience and strength

  • The candidates should prioritize client focus and possess efficient interpersonal skills, along with excellent oral communication abilities, ensuring effective interaction with clients
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility and initiative, adapting to changing circumstances and proactively seeking solutions

  • The candidates should be team players, collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve common objectives and foster a positive work environment

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages and enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
  • The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns, prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables, and present bills to customers and accept payment in various forms
  • The candidates should be able to describe menu items, including daily specials, for customers, advise on menu selections, balance cash and record sales, and clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs
  • The candidates should be able to greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages, perform sensory evaluation of wines, serve food and beverages, take orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff, train staff, assist clients/guests with special needs, and provide customer service, ensuring a positive dining experience for patrons
