Role: Senior Manager, Consumer Products Industry, United States and Canada (USC)

As a Senior Manager on the Consumer Products Team at dss+, you will assume a key role in driving and expanding our presence in the Consumer Products sector with a strong emphasis on business development. You will be responsible for developing and leading the regional go-to-market strategy and execution for our Consumer Products Industry team, providing valuable solutions to clients.

In this strategic and client-facing position, you will oversee the entire consulting value chain. This includes leading or supporting business development efforts, engaging in project delivery, and fostering account development. You will also be a regional thought leader, actively contributing to shaping and driving our Consumer Products Industry strategy in collaboration with our Practice Delivery Teams, while collaborating with the regional Consumer Products Industry Leader.

You will be instrumental in driving revenue and profit growth in the Consumer Products industry, all while working closely with thought leaders to innovate our approach and deliver exceptional value to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to USC Consumer Products Leader and be accountable for developing and leading junior team members, with a strong focus on business development and go-to-market strategy to support regional business growth.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify potential clients through research and network building, work with Industry Leader to scope projects, prepare and deliver presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets. Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with the global Consumer Products Industry Team to contribute to thought leadership, offerings, and methodologies, bringing global best practices to the USC market and clients.
  • Provide support for consulting business assessment and implementation engagements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client executives, maintaining and expanding relationships in alignment with the account team. Understand client needs and consult on solutions that add value to their business.
  • Participate in and contribute to internal and external industry networks with the aim of developing new business working closely with the USC Marketing Team.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the consulting team to ensure client projects are delivered effectively. Coordinate with marketing to develop targeted campaigns and materials

Working Experience:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in supporting clients on transformational journeys, including strategy development, operational roadmaps, integration into business units and functions, and support in implementation.
  • Proven expertise in change management, with a strong track record of successfully leading and implementing organizational changes.
  • A proven track record in management consulting and individual business development success.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Consumer Products Industry.
  • Sound technical and business/commercial acumen.
  • Effective leadership skills to lead internal teams and engage with client executives.
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior client executives, with a demonstrated history of account revenue growth.

Qualifications:

  • Current knowledge of the Consumer Products industry, including key trends, major players in the market, key risks, challenges, and value drivers.
  • Experience working in a management consulting firm and/or hands-on experience in the Consumer Products industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry solutions and best practices in operational risk, operational excellence, and sustainability practice lines.
  • Strong existing network of relevant senior leaders in targeted Consumer Products industry accounts.
  • More than 8 years of experience in delivering growth and key services in transforming companies in the Consumer Products Industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills at the C-suite level, with the ability to effectively drive business development, solution development, and high-quality delivery of key services.
  • Proven experience in managing, leading, and developing a team.
  • Successful candidates will have a solid foundation in account management, with a focus on client retention, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, results-focused, and adept at thriving in a fast-paced, rapidly growing consulting environment.

Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or business; MBA or MS preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have a mix of industry and consulting background.
  • More than 8 years of professional experience in management consulting; deep understanding of management consulting services and how they can benefit clients. Well-versed in the industry trends and challenges facing prospective clients.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a team-working attitude to collaborate within fast-paced, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Travel Required
