Class Description

The purpose of this position is the design, development, and maintenance of the College’s web site and extended web presence by conceptualizing, developing, supporting, and maintaining current and future applications that enhance functionality and presentation.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field and one (1) year of related experience as a developer working to maintain and improve complex websites. OR

Associate degree in computer science, information technology or related field and three (3) years of experience as a developer working to maintain and improve complex websites. Fluent in Web Front-end development technology such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript  Experience in JavaScript and CSS frameworks and such as React, JQuery, and Bootstrap.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate’s education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Class Specific Essential Duties
  1. Develops effective web applications to address a variety of college goals and user needs.
  2. Designs and develops new front-end interfaces.
  3. Provides technical guidance during project planning including integrations with other systems and web properties.
  4. Serves as a liaison with internal and external technical development resources.
  5. Collaborates with other internal units to deliver successful web development projects.
  6. Provides project outlines and maintains documentation for all Web development tasks.

Position Specific Essential Duties
  1. Develops, maintains, and continually refines the functionality of the website and its underlying systems. Analyzes, designs, documents, develops, tests, and implements applications. 
  2. Applies CCBC visual identity and website design systems to the development of new web page and web component types and application user interfaces.
  3. Maintains CMS functional documentation and training resources.
  4. Adapts, configures, enhances, and integrates third party applications and web services such as site search, social media aggregators, and analytics.
  5. Maintains content management system. Acts as web team technical lead with CMS vendors and with CCBC Information Technology Services for implementation, technical support, upgrades and enhancements, documentation, and testing.
  6. Apply understanding of ADA, Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 standards for federal compliance.  
  7. Generate regular analytics and other system performance reports as needed.
